Learn how to convert MIDI loops, edit step parameters, and export native .seq binary files for Behringer synthesizers.

1. Importing MIDI Files (.mid / .midi)

Click the Import MIDI button or drag-and-drop any SMF Type 0 or Type 1 MIDI loop into the app. The converter automatically quantizes notes to a 16th-note grid and sets the sequence step length (8, 16, 24, or 32 steps).

Polyphonic Chord Handling: If the MIDI file contains polyphonic chords, an interactive modal will pop up allowing you to audition the Top Voice (Melody/Lead) vs. Bottom Voice (Bassline) using the Web Audio synth before importing.

2. Selecting Target Behringer Synthesizer

Use the Target Device dropdown selector in the top navbar to switch between CRAVE, TD-3, MS-1, and EDGE. This updates the binary header strings (UTF-16BE) and default firmware version embedded in exported .seq files.

3. Interactive Piano Roll & Step Editing

Add / Move Note: Click any cell in the 11-octave grid (C-1 to C9) or click and drag a note up and down to change pitch with live synth auditioning.
Step Parameters: Right-click any step column to set Gate Length (12.5% to 100%), Ratchet (1x to 4x), Velocity (1-6), Glide, Accent, or Rest.
Grid Zoom: Use the Grid Zoom (+ / -) buttons in the top bar to make notes large and easy to read.

4. Exporting .seq Binary Files for SynthTribe

Click Export .seq to download the reverse-engineered Behringer binary pattern file. Open Behringer's official SynthTribe desktop application, connect your synthesizer via USB, and load the .seq file into your hardware pattern slots!
